F.A.Q.

Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.):

Where does the application donation go?
  • Every artist's application donation goes toward the maintenance costs not only of this site, but also of the entire Thunderune Network. The Thunderune Network is a network of magazines, resources, free fiction and community oriented sites built and operated by E.S. Wynn, chief editor of Thunderune Publishing. Each of these sites was constructed with the aim of making a better future for all, especially authors, poets, musicians and other artists, regardless of race, creed, orientation or nationhood.
My Application was rejected! Why?
  •  I consider it a personal goal to bring as many artists into Purchase Progress as possible, but sometimes an application comes in that just isn't a good fit with the site. Don't worry, rejection is rare, and all application donations sent in with rejected applications will be returned to their senders. The most common reason for rejection is usually writing something like "I'll drink a beer if I reach my $100 target" or "I'll drive around in the woods for a while if I reach my $500 target." Pledges like these show a lack of commitment to making positive change in the world.
Will you take any form of art at all?
  • As long as you've got a link to sell it through, any form of art at all is fine. Note: unfortunately, at this time, the site cannot accept anything which would be unsafe for viewing at work (nude photography, erotica, hate crimes, etc.)
I can't think of any good ideas for pledges. Can you help me?
  • There are lots of ways to make positive change in the world! You could start a community garden or help with a reforestation project, volunteer to work with the homeless, pick up garbage along a local freeway, organize a peaceful protest, donate to a charity, hug a hundred people and tell them how awesome they are, adopt a pet from a shelter, volunteer to teach others a skill you have mastered, cheer people up at retirement homes, commit to making a regular positive change (like recycling, walking to work instead of driving, or donating food), become the pen pal of a number of lonely people (like soldiers, inmates, firefighters, teenagers or distant friends.), start (or expand) a home business, organization or non-profit with a mission to create positive change for others. These are just a few ideas! You can visit the Past Artists page to get more ideas too!
How do I know my purchase made a difference?
  • Just purchasing a book, print, album or other work of art from an artist on this site makes a difference. Every sale brings a smile to a struggling or unknown artist's face and motivates them to do more for the world that loves them enough to buy the work they have created. Adhering to pledges is the responsibility of the artists that make them, and it may take a while to reach a set goal, but periodically Purchase Progress receives proof that these pledges have been met. You can find these in the Affirmations section.
